Hi, I’m Rachel.

Certified holistic health coach, wellness educator, and natural living advocate. 

My work is dedicated to sharing practical tools and natural solutions to help driven women reduce stress, improve mood, and reclaim their energy so they can show up as the passionate, creative, and powerful women they were created to be.  

After healing my body of an autoimmune disease and breaking free from 15 years of yo-yo dieting, disordered eating, and low self-esteem, I became obsessed with teaching and promoting a lifestyle of wellness without deprivation. In hopes of inspiring others to take charge of their own health, I’ve spent the past decade working as a corporate wellness specialist, personal trainer, and holistic health coach. 

Throughout my entrepreneurial journey, I found myself juggling too many responsibilities. I wore multiple hats a small business owner and worked other jobs to help pay off student loans while doing my best to maintain a great marriage and an active social life. Even though I was eating well, exercising, and doing everything “right” the chronic stress I was experiencing started to affect my sleep, weight, energy, memory, and mood.  

In fact, one morning on my way to work, I had to pull over because I experienced my first panic attack. My heart was racing, my throat felt like it was closing, and I couldn’t breathe. I called my husband and said, “I think I need to go to the hospital, but I can’t drive.” He quickly coached me to take deep breathes and explain what I was feeling. After a few minutes of deep breathing, my heart rate came back down and I bursted into tears. I remember thinking to myself, how did this happen? How did I end up here? I looked at myself in the rearview mirror and didn’t recognize the tired stranger starring back at me.

That was the wake up call I needed to take a hard look at my schedule and my priorities. I knew I needed to change my lifestyle if I wanted to feel like my old self again. I started with simple changes. Stress-reduction activities like deep breathing and walking outdoors replaced my afternoon trip to Starbucks and high intensity workouts. I added deep breathing exercises to my morning and evening routines, experimented with adaptogenic herbs, and became very intentional with using essential oils to balance my hormones and inspire a positive emotional state. Within a few weeks my energy increased and I started to feel like myself again.

As a trained public health practitioner and health coach, I knew chronic stress negatively impacted our health, but this experience led me to me to take a deep dive into the latest research. I also had real conversations with my family, friends, clients and co-workers about my own struggles and they opened up to me about theirs too. I quickly realized that chronic stress is a national epidemic and there are not enough healthcare professionals addressing it. Earlier this year, I made it my mission to fight the staggering statistics on chronic stress. 

I relaunched this blog to not only share what I’ve learned over the past 10 years from coaching hundreds of women to better health, but also to document my life – the lessons I’m learning, the actions I’m taking, and the experiences I never want to forget. My hope is that my personal stories of trials and triumphs combined with my practical healthy living advice will inspire, encourage, and equip you to live a healthier, happier, and more peaceful life too.  

Ultimately, my goal is to empower you with the knowledge and tools to stress less and thrive in the modern world. By harnessing the power of plant-rich, whole-food nutrition, movement, self-care rituals, essential oils, and more to shift our perspective – and our actions – in order to realize our full potential and lead extraordinary lives. I am thrilled to be on this wellness journey with you! 

Where Did My Passion for Health & Wellness Begin? 

The truth is, I wasn’t always healthy. I grew up on Captain Crunch and microwave meals, was overweight as a child, and developed serious body image issues and eating disorders at the age of 12. For most of my life, I struggled with yo-yo dieting, depression, digestive issues, and a serious lack of self-worth. Simply put, I hated my body and I tried everything to change it.

A Little About Me

Born and raised in Buffalo, New York, I am a multi-passionate entrepreneur, holistic health coach, wellness educator, and student of life. I’m a wife to a handsome man named Darren, also known in the Ninja Warrior community as FACE. I’m a mama to our sweet little Maltese puppies named Leo (short for Leonidas – The Ninja Warrior King) and Xander (short for Alexander The Great Conquerer of All Obstacles). Yes, we are a Ninja Warrior family! I have an insatiable appetite for learning and growth. I love take-your-breath-away laughs, dancing at weddings, live theatre, pink flowers, yoga, and Buffalo’s Canalside at sunset. I live for Jesus and I’ll drop anything for family and friends.

God is good, and life is crazy beautiful. I LOVE IT!
