Did you know that chocolate is a skin protecting superfood? Yep! Thanks to its free-radical-fighting antioxidants (1), raw cacao is a staple in my diet and beauty routine (hello, chocolate face masks!). Just do your skin a favor by ditching the sugary milk chocolate bars and opt for raw organic dark chocolate or this nourishing chocolate dream smoothie instead!

Chocolate Dream Smoothie

  • Blender


  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 banana previously peeled, sliced, and frozen
  • 1/4 avocado
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 serving collagen protein*
  • 2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon


  • Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend until smooth. Add additional almond milk if required to achieve desired consistency.
  • Enjoy immediately or transfer to an airtight glass container and refrigerate for up to 24 hours (though best when fresh).


Use all organic ingredients when possible. 
*Avocado makes this smoothie nice and creamy. If you don't have avocado, use a full frozen banana instead. I personally use and recommend Truvani's Wild-Caught Marine Collagen OR Primal Kitchen's Vanilla Coconut Collagen Fuel Protein Mix. If you happen to have Primal Kitchen's Chocolate Coconut Collagen Fuel Protein Mix then reduce the amount of raw cacao powder to 1 tablespoon. If you don't have collagen protein, don't fret! Just use any high-quality, plant-based protein powder instead. 
Optional Add-Ins: 
  • 1-2 large handfuls of greens (spinach, kale, rainbow chard) - I like to buy mine fresh and then freeze right away for smoothies
  • 1-2 Medjool dates, pitted - this will add a little more sweetness
  • Cacao nibs for garnish
