Event: Hiking The Niagara Gorge

Event: Hiking The Niagara Gorge

The Niagara Gorge offers more than 15 miles of Trails and spectacular vistas you won’t find anywhere else.

Join Darren and I for a challenging hike down the Whirlpool Trail, across to Devil’s Hole, and back up along the Upper Gorge Trail. Be prepared for challenging sections including steep stairs and rocky terrain. Comfortable attire and sturdy footwear is recommended. Outdoor Adventures are free, and open to men and women (18 years+). Invite your friends and family to join us!

Meeting Place: The Whirlpool State Park parking lot. Located on Robert Moses Parkway in Niagara Falls, NY 14305. When entering the location in a GPS, be sure to use “Whirlpool State Park” on Robert Moses Parkway as your destination.

Start Time: 12:00pm

End Time: Sometime between 2:30-3:00pm or whenever you get tired and want to go home ;)

Tips: Eat a light snack or lunch beforehand. Bring a back pack with snacks and plenty of water. Wear hiking shoes. Dress for the weather. Wear sunscreen and sunglasses, if needed. Bug spray too!

She Told Me To Take A Hike

Depending on how long we’ve known each other…

You may already know that I love being outdoors. And, being active. And, being with friends who inspire me to do more and be better.

This weekend I had the opportunity to experience all three, at the same time. Thank the sweet goodness of glowing green juice, that day has come.

The spark of inspiration was lit when Darren, my better half, and I talked about how to spend more time with friends, with the small amount of free time that we (momentarily) have.

We came up with the idea of Outdoor Adventures with Darren & Rachel. A series of outdoor activities that promote fitness and friendship.

When I spoke to Jackie, my cousin (pictured above, to the left of me), about our Outdoor Adventures she told me to TAKE A HIKE! Literally. Jackie is a hiking enthusiast and I was thrilled to bring her on board as our Hiking Guide.

This past weekend, we took our first hike at the Niagara Falls Gorge. It was absolutely stunning. The crisp smell of fall leaves and rushing sound of powerful water was energizing and invigorating!

Outdoor Adventures With Darren & Rachel

I have exciting news! My better half, Darren, and I are launching a series of free outdoor fitness adventures (Biking, Hiking, Rollerblading, Adventure Runs) that will take place August – October throughout Buffalo, New York. We thought this would be the perfect way to enjoy the warm weather while it’s here and spend time with friends.

Join us this Tuesday, August 4th for our first adventure!

ROLLERBLADING: ELLICOTT CREEK TRAILWAY

Grab your skates, strap on your helmets and protective gear, and prepare to have fun! Join us for an adventurous inline skating experience along Ellicott Creek’s Trailway. At just over 7 miles, this trail is perfect for beginners.

Meeting Place: Audobon Town Park entrance/parking lot on N. Forest Road (look for tennis courts).

Start Time: 6:00pm

End Time: Sometime between 7:00-7:30pm or whenever you get tired and want to go home 😉

Tips: Bring a towel and a water bottle. Dress for the weather. Wear sunscreen and sunglasses.

Cost: FREE

All outdoor activities are open to men and women (18 years+). Invite your family and friends to join us! RSVP required.
