Organic Hair Salon Review & DIY Mermaid Hair Spray

Organic Hair Salon Review & DIY Mermaid Hair Spray

When you find a product or service you love, you share it right?! I have to tell you about my experience with Colby at Pure Organics Salon. Plus, I’m going to share my favorite DIY mermaid hair spray with you at the end of this post!

I’ve been highlighting and styling my hair for nearly 20 years. Like most women, I had NO CLUE about the harmful ingredients aka carcinogens (ingredients linked to cancer) and neurotoxins (ingredients known to poison our nervous system) I was applying to my body and breathing in every time I styled my hair or got it highlighted. I won’t go into detail here, but I encourage you to head over to Environmental Working Group’s website and search “hair products.” They do an incredible job summarizing the research. You can also download the Think Dirty App and search for the products you’re currently using to determine whether or not they’re safe.

Enter Pure Organics Salon. I’ve been wanting to make the switch for YEARS. Who knew breaking up with your hairstylist would be SO HARD? I’ve been going to the same girl who I absolutely adore for 16+ years. It’s terrifying to go somewhere new. Will they be welcoming? Will this organic stuff even work?

Mind blown. Colby is beyond welcoming and talented. My hair is beautiful. The products that they use have NO smell. No burning. No headaches. 💃🏼 I’ve seen her twice now and I feel like she’s a sister from another mister. She speaks my crunchy, non-toxic language. We chat essential oils, dogs, fitness and business. She’s incredibly sweet and down to earth. If you’re local to Buffalo and looking to make the switch, I highlight recommend!

So, how about that hair spray? This Mermaid Hair Spray is great for hair growth & makes my hair feel super soft. It’s incredibly simple to make and it smells incredible. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

DIY Lavender Linen Spray

DIY Lavender Linen Spray

Ok, so I may have a slight obsession with Lavender essential oil. I have Lavender-infused body soap, lotion, chapstick and facial serum, I diffuse it every evening to relax before bedtime, and I even make a homemade Lavender Lemonade recipe that is to die for. Last year, I started making my own Lavender linen spray to save money (I used to pay a hefty price for a tiny bottle from a fancy store) and I was shocked at just how easy it is to make at home. So let’s get started so you can learn how to freshen fabrics in your home for just pennies and with simple ingredients. This recipe requires only three ingredients and takes less than two minutes to make. It can be used to spray on sheets, blankets, carpets, sofas, and pillows. It will leave your entire home smelling clean and fresh, without any harmful artificial fragrances. #Winning

About The Ingredients

  • Lavender essential oil has a scent that’s fresh, clean, and relaxing. It eases feelings of tension and stress by instilling an overall sense of calm. It promotes total body relaxation and supports a restful night’s sleep.
  • Alcohol acts as a preservative. If you prefer to make this recipe without alcohol; use unscented witch hazel instead.

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Combine the Lavender and grain alcohol (or witch hazel) in the spray bottle and gently shake to mix.
  2. Fill with water and shake well.
  3. Spritz on sheets, blankets, towels, and other linens. Shake well before each use.
NOTE: With the alcohol, this spray will last for months without the need for refrigeration. What’s your favorite way to keep fabrics smelling fresh?
